Checklist of moments in your Indian Wedding that must get captured no matter what

Moments in your Indian Wedding that must get captured no matter what

A wedding is a beautiful garland of intimate and precious moments. These memories created on the bride and groom's special day by family and friends will always be cherished by the family and friends for their lifetime. There are times when words aren't ample to sketch all your emotions, and your wedding is one such emotional roller coaster ride!

Wedding photographs are something that captures all the beautiful moments you experience at a wedding and is one of the very few sources that allow you to live the same moments once again in the future. Thus, it becomes an integral part of the wedding. When you hire a photographer team for your wedding, the final product only turns outright if you sit with the team and share your ideas regarding making the perfect Hindu wedding photos at your wedding!

Hindu wedding photos you make should capture all the fun and color we hope to see in an Indian wedding including the customs, games, and so on.

As a wedding photographer, we have always tried to capture those 'must-have' moments, that you'll cherish forever. So, here are some ideas for you to focus on.

Location Shots

Before guests arrive and the wedding ritual begins, be sure to take photos of the location with no one in it. These are great shots for the bride and groom to see all of the details that were there in their site. Yeah, it doesn't include the bride and groom and their moments but let's not forget it consists of the place where your big day happened, and you may want to have it in your wedding album. So, assist your photographer in having that must.

Bride getting ready shots

There is something pure and beautiful about a bride getting her makeup done and getting her groove on! Moreover, the excitement of family, friends, and guests about how pretty the bride is going to look on her wedding day. You can start by capturing the details of her dress or her friends or cousins, helping her to look her best. Take the bride's singles where she is either wearing an earring or putting a bindi on her forehead. The shot taken through her sheer dupatta shot is a classic and elegant frame. The bride getting ready, shy and tense, yet happy and excited or the total opposite that bride being happy, laughing and having fun is a beautiful and alluring shot that no wedding photographers should miss. So, my lovely bride-to-be's get your groove on and tell your superb photographers to capture these fantastic shots.

Groom Getting Ready shots

Bride's shots of getting ready shots are captured but HEY! Let's not forget our handsome groom. As the photographer did for the bride, also capture the groom as he styles his hair (or if someone else helps him). Get close and take photos of him adjusting his cufflinks, and wearing his sherwani. For a shot of the groom with his groomsmen or his father or cousins and friends, suggest they help him wearing his sherwani or sehra on to capture the shot of everyone together. Since, getting ready for the groom may take less time, try to catch a few shots of him sitting on a couch or stool to add to the collection of groom photos. Furthermore, pictures like the groom with his Kataar or Kirpal can also be shot or a picture with his Pagdi.

Bride Walking Down the Aisle shot

Considering everyone at the wedding is expecting an enchanting arrival of the bride, this moment is a must to capture. Shoot the grand entry of the bride in her beautiful wedding lehenga or dress with her bridesmaids and brothers. Brides, talk with the photographer if you have any special requests or going to be entering on a chariot or with a garland roof over the top. This will give room to the photographers to experiment by taking shots from various angles. While you are at it, do not forget to capture the groom's expressions when he first looks at his wife-to-be approaching or he giving a hand to her while going on the stage.

Close up of the couple shot

Who doesn't want to see the love birds together? The moment they exchange garlands (varmala), or engagement rings, these are the most critical moments during the wedding ceremony. Focus on the emotions of both the bride and groom at this moment. You can also zoom in on the rings they hold in their hands. You can be more creative where the focus is on the ring, and the couple is blurred in the background. Moreover, in haldi and mehndi shots of bride you can show their playful side, about how fun they are having and enjoying.

Bride Portraits

This one is needless to explain. Since it's your wedding, you deserve a solo photo shoot. During the bride's photoshoot, the focus should be on her dress, smile, and demeanor. Photographers also have the liberty to use props in the photos. You could capture the henna on her feet in beautiful Cinderella-like stilettos and (or) the anklet. Capture her merry mood as swirls her wedding lehenga. You could also take a full close up of her face showing her makeup and one in a million smiles.

Groom Portraits

Just like the bride, the groom also deserves a handsome solo photoshoot too. He could do a classic pose with his hands in his pockets or him holding the groom's traditional sword. Make him sit on the wedding chair to show him like a king who is happy ( too happy) to have his queen. The sherwani he will be wearing will make him look all regal and classy. The photographer should tell him as if he is going to be featured on the cover of vanity magazine to bring out the best in him :P.

Couple Portraits

This is the most essential must-have a part of your wedding photography checklist. Ultimately, these photos are going to get framed and will get hang in your room. So, these should look royal, elegant, classy, and helpful at the same time. You could go for a classic, cliche pose where the bride is sitting on a chair, and the groom is standing right behind her or vice-versa. Tell your photographer to try different angles, positions, and theme for such shoots, don’t just click boring photographs.

Kaleera Shot

This shot should be taken when the bride and her gang are having a little fun. Tell the photographer to capture the naughtiness and playful behavior. Shaking Kaleeras on your friend’s head and the nervousness of the bridesmaids to see if they are next in line :P. A photographer can make these shots candid as well as quirky at some point depending on what he has in mind and how well he captures the moment with his spontaneity.

Hope these helped you to finalise some poses and shots for your wedding. If you have more ideas which should be in this then don’t forget to comment down below.
